How do you support early career community-engaged faculty? What advice and suggestions would you give them as they navigate the tenure and promotion system, particularly if the T&P guidelines at their University do not explicitly discuss community engagement? In this session, we share a resource co-authored by three civic engagement professionals (Sylvia Gale, Derek Miller, and Lynn Pelco) and three of University of Richmond’s most community-engaged faculty (Patricia Herrera, Maia Linask, and Nicole Maurantonio) that seeks to answer these questions. The resource provides key resources and questions that empowers scholars to define their own path through the University promotion system. We focus on three key elements: developing your identity statement, finding your mentors, and documenting your scholarship.
