It is time to update the competency model for Community Engagement Professionals, and to do so in a rigorous, field-tested way. This session will allow research leads and fellows from the project team to share more about the early insights from their literature review for the full CEP competency study as well as prepare for focus groups. This study will address the relevancy of the 2017 framework in current Community Engagement Professional practice, including sunsetting competencies which are no longer applicable within the context of the field, emphasizing new competencies that are considered core to the work of CEPs, and including competencies within new and emerging functional areas of CEP professional practice.
