The Akron Community Engaged (ACE) Scholars program is a collective that draws together faculty and professional staff based on a shared passion for community engagement. In the first two years, over 80 individuals have been accepted as ACE Scholars based on the intentional alignment of their teaching, scholarship, or service for public impact. The ACE Scholars have created a community of practice and a culture of engagement that assists the EX[L] Center and the Office of Community Impact with efforts in data collection, assessment, strategic planning, and storytelling. During this roundtable, the presenters will share how the program was conceptualized and successfully pitched, opportunities leveraging the collective to advance the institutionalization of community engagement, and lessons learned.
