The purpose of this presentation is to share the essentials of building a Community Engagement Scholarship program. Community Engagement Scholarships provide scholarship support for students with financial need to complete internships with local non-profit organizations. Such scholarships are attractive both to students and to potential donors who might not otherwise financially support the educational unit that develops them. Participants will learn how to create their own Community Engagement Scholarship program. The session will be particularly useful for academic administrators, faculty, and fundraisers dedicated to community engagement who serve in smaller or newer units and thus struggle to compete in a crowded academic fundraising atmosphere.
