Description

Facilitating community-engaged learning (CEL) experiences often requires navigating complex ethical questions, particularly concerning power, intention, and impact. This session focuses on the role of facilitators as critical agents in shaping the CEL experience, highlighting the importance of decentering, intentionality, and reflective practices. Participants will be introduced to various practical pedagogical tools that CEL facilitators can leverage to cultivate an ethical approach to CEL grounded in equitable, reciprocal partnerships. This session aims to equip participants with the tools, confidence, and skills to foster ethical, mutually beneficial CEL relationships, helping ensure our engagement work is impactful and just.
