This session will provide an overview of the Macalester College Community Engagement Center’s (CEC) multi-faceted approach to developing student leaders capable of stewarding and co-creating mutually beneficial partnerships with community organizations. The CEC provides a wide range of opportunities for students to participate in voluntary and paid cohort programs that pair regular and consistent community involvement with staff-led facilitation, reflective dialogue, and co-curricular projects that both broaden the scope of peer-to-peer involvement and deepen the nature of collaborative relationships with local communities.
