The Pathways of Social Impact offer considerations for understanding how different but interconnected actions contribute to community capacity building and social change. The Pathways are: Direct Service, Community Engaged Learning & Research, Social Entrepreneurship & Corporate Social Responsibility, Policy & Governance, Community Organizing & Activism, and Philanthropy. The book explores the pathways through three sections: 1) Pathways Practitioner Profiles synthesizing the knowledge, skills, and attributes featured in each pathway; 2) case studies offerings of exemplars for the diverse ways in which the Pathways are being used across higher education and within communities; and 3) theoretical, empirical, and critical considerations for advancing current and future work with the Pathways framework and survey.
