Description

“Parking Lot Magic: Planting Seeds for Engagement” previews Megan Lovely's forthcoming book, Parking Lot Magic, an in-depth study of community building at a Baltimore City farmers market. Blending memoir, research, and over 200 stories, interviews, and photographs, this book illustrates how storytelling fosters a shared sense of community and social responsibility. In this interactive session, participants will engage in a storytelling and art-making exchange based on the book’s Story Seeds engagements. Through this exchange, participants will brainstorm how to facilitate storytelling in their own communities on and off campus to cultivate belonging, unity, and civic engagement. This session speaks to anyone seeking a deeper connection to their work and the people and places that they call home.
