This session will demonstrate how to develop a faculty community engaged teaching/learning fellows program. Participants will learn from the experiences on a long-standing, successful model for selecting, training, and supporting faculty offered by the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. The session will introduce a newly refined online resource for incorporating community engaged learning into classes developed by a team of faculty experts in community engagement. The toolkit offers a 6-module, developmental sequence ideal for learning community settings, which includes learning objectives, videos from expert community-engaged scholars and/or practitioners, readings, and suggested learning plans with activities and civic prompts. Participants will learn how to use the toolkit (which is publicly available) to facilitate discussions of foundational principles and practices for equitable community-based teaching/learning.
