This session's purpose is to discuss the rebranding, implementation, and evaluation of campus Signature Service Volunteer Days at the University of Nebraska Omaha. The session's focus will be on how place-based community experiences and intentional community organization thought leadership reshaped a 20-year-old initiative. Key objectives include learnings about thought partnership and co-creation with community, centering the power of community immersion for students, and guidance on how to integrate an innovative reflective dialogue approach following a service project. Participants will takeaway insights on how to ensure campus and community co-created service days can improve student social mobility, methods to increase representation of grassroots community organizations in volunteer project design, and ways to create sustainable student volunteer pipelines by addressing community issues.
