This session addresses how community-engaged courses support coalition building by creating networks across cohorts and semesters. Through a discussion of two community-engaged writing curricula, participants will examine models for multi-generational, on- and off-campus partnerships. We will discuss Dr. Finn’s work pairing students with student activist groups on campus and Prof. Avery-Miller’s intergenerational partnership around storytelling and education about AI/digital technology. Participants will do a guided exercise to map their own networks to build continuity and connection for advocacy towards community goals.
