Community-engaged pedagogy, by design, is a learning space for everyone involved: students, community partners, faculty, staff. This session will reflect these perspectives with rotating presentations addressing different aspects of community-engaged teaching and learning, departing from specific examples. After a brief introduction, you will have a series of conversations in small groups with presenters, moving from one conversation to another, touching on topics such as: Co-creating a partnership for a course/program; drafting syllabi with partners; integration into institutional requirements; logistics for mutually beneficial work; evaluation / reflection; scaffolding projects with partners; expecting the unexpected. The session will conclude with an arts-based reflection activity that you can adapt and use later as a strategy for all voices to be present and heard.
