The Buckley Public Service Scholars program at Carolina Center for Public Service (CCPS) UNC Chapel Hill supports students in skill-building and moving toward a deeper understanding of community engagement. As students complete program components, they build a service portfolio. CCPS recently transitioned from a custom-built platform to GivePulse to manage this complex program. The transition from a custom-built portfolio included transferring data from more than 5,400 service projects, 4,900 skills trainings, and 1,000 enrolled students. This process presented opportunities and challenges related to processes, training and maintaining partnerships. This session will provide a deep dive of this transition, including making the decision to onboard GivePulse, working with IT, the timeline, and how we adapted GivePulse features to work for us.
