The Democracy Inventory Project is a collaborative joint effort of the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) and Campus Compact that aims to strengthen higher education’s ability to advance democratic engagement efforts nationally. 21 higher education leaders representing diverse institutions were selected through a competitive application process to form the Democracy Inventory Design Team. The team has synthesized a variety of existing democratic engagement, civic learning, and democracy-building research and practices. During this proposed discussion session, members of the group will share and socialize tools and resources that can be deployed to conduct inventories at diverse campuses and share input to improve future iterations. Presenters will be joined by several members of the design team, including Cathy Copeland, Sylvia Gale, Philip Goodrich, and Agnieszka Nance, Patty Robinson, James Roland, and Kimberly Rosenfeld.
