The Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility was established “to prepare and motivate students to understand and engage issues of civic and social concern and…to set their own paths towards shaping a more just and compassionate world.” This wayfinding often occurs in the context of Engaged Scholarship and community-campus partnerships. In this session, participants will learn about two recent research projects–one on student learning goals and one on partnership impact–that can serve as assessment models. During both research projects, collaboration with campus- and/or community-based partners has been foundational in the interpretation of results and exploration of how we might leverage already existing resources, structures, or systems -- or build desired ones -- for enhancing civic and social impact.
