Omprakash is a nonprofit that helps universities radically transform their global, local, and on-campus community engagement programs to increase students’ critical reflection and dialogue around key questions of power, privilege, and positionality. In this presentation, we share examples of how some universities have collaborated with us to integrate global social impact internships, local community and civic engagement, and on-campus efforts to promote a culture of inclusion and belonging amongst their students. We highlight how the collaborations have utilized customizable online learning tools and a unique mentorship model to integrate a wide range of different program models, destinations, and learning outcomes. What underpins these diverse programs is a commitment to supporting students' critical reflection, dialogue, and storytelling as they seek to 'help others' or 'do good' while crossing differences of culture and power.
