What types of listening practices create the capacity to re/connect such that when harm occurs, as it undoubtedly and naturally has and will, the relationship has the ability to repair, grow, and continue? This workshop presents the concept of Restorative Listening, developed through a study conducted with over 20 community engagement professionals across New Zealand in Spring 2024 spanning fields including, higher education, postsecondary school, community/iwi leaders, and community safety and police. Learn about the phases of restorative listening (proactive and reactive), as well as skillful practices for restorative listening across three levels, including to self (somatic), to others (interpersonal), and in community (collective voice).
