America’s story is the story of service. From our earliest days, Americans have stepped forward to serve, helping us through our greatest challenges and triumphs. America’s 250th birthday in 2026 represents an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate this core American value and usher in a new era of service and civic engagement in America. AmeriCorps, the federal agency for service and volunteering, is eager to work with higher education and other partners to use America 250 as a springboard to expand service and civic engagement to meet pressing challenges facing our communities and nation. Join us to learn more about America 250, utilizing national days of service to jumpstart community engagement, and brainstorming ways students, faculty, and higher education institutions can help reignite America’s spirit of service that is a hallmark of our nation and cornerstone of our success.
