Throughout my career, I have seen the power of interpersonal dialogue to foster understanding and solve our most pressing problems. In my work with students, faculty, campus leadership, and beyond higher ed, I start with the question "what would we do if we wanted to understand?"  I have found that inquiring collaboratively, listening generously, communicating responsibly, and reflecting deeply are all powerful tools for understanding one another and ourselves.  My new book, Try to Love the Questions: From Debate to Dialogue in Classrooms and Life  offers a framework for collaborative inquiry and meaningful dialogue.
