Kaufman is the Director of the Vasconcellos Institute for Democracy in Action (VIDA) and faculty member in philosophy at De Anza College. She is the lead faculty for the Youth Leadership Corps project and has written extensively on organizing, environmental justice, and other contemporary issues.
