Recent research on the impact of higher education community engagement on community outcomes has surfaced common themes, namely the importance of relationships. In this session, participants will critically reflect on the “who” and the “how” of community and, through dialogue on key questions that emerged from community voices, will reimagine a way forward for service learning and community engagement (SLCE) – a way forward that centers “the community,” an open and reciprocal learning environment, and community members as equal partners.
