Description

Public higher education faces unprecedented threats, but the impacts are unequally distributed across institution types. Flagship universities are better positioned to weather issues related to declining enrollments and reduced resources. Regional comprehensive universities arguably enjoy relative advantages in terms of public trust. This dialogue will explore how flagship universities might better serve their states by partnering (rather than competing) with regional public institutions in ways that build those institutions’ capacity to serve their constituencies. How might we collaborate across geographical, political, and cultural divides in ways that benefit both institution types and collectively rebuild public trust in higher education? We invite participants from all institution types who are interested in intercampus collaboration to join us for this critical conversation.
