College Presidents for Civic Preparedness is an initiative of the Institute for Citizens & Scholars (C&S) that supports and builds effective and strategic pathways to anchor civics, in all its forms, as the ballast in higher education. Through this initiative and ongoing research and exploration, C&S launched two initiatives in 2023 to support these efforts: a measurement working group and an interdisciplinary faculty institute focused on civil discourse and engagement across differences. In this session, we will share lessons learned from the inaugural year, research and feedback on both initiatives, discuss replicating these initiatives, and ask for your wisdom and expertise as we move into year two and consider scaling and growth.
