What do you mean by “diversity”? Is it a euphemism for another word? A way to make language more palatable for a particular audience? How is our language use intended and being received, and by whom? This dialogue will focus on unpacking language use in community engagement practices in higher education. Specifically, participants will share their experiences with the language of diversity from their various positionalities. The dialogue will also support collective envisioning about how we can use language to create new ways of being together in community and advancing our field, given the current socio-political climate.
