Description

The Colorado State University Pueblo Center for Honors and Leadership and United Way of Pueblo County leveraged a long-standing partnership, existing courses, and a United Way fellowship program (which connects students to community engagement opportunities in area nonprofits) to launch a brand new Certificate in Community Engagement at the University. This session explores how adding audacious and ambitious student learning outcomes and a Google Site portfolio of student work solidified a proposal the University administration embraced and supported. The Certificate strengthens the Center’s mission, curriculum, enrollment, scholarship, and retention strategies and strengthens the impact of United Way in southeastern Colorado.
