Climate change poses urgent threats to ecosystems, including plant and animal species, economies, and human well-being. Colleges and universities are uniquely positioned to prepare communities for climate change’s most immediate impacts. In this session, we will highlight the Campus Climate Action Corps (CCAC) Project as an example of how campuses and their community partners can create change that leads to increased energy efficiency and improvements for at-risk ecosystems by implementing local solutions for underserved households and communities. We will also provide information about how campuses can get involved with CCAC, encourage participants to share success stories from their campuses, and break into round tables for insightful discussions about how higher education can help lead on addressing climate change.
