Miami Dade College’s Civic Action Scorecard is an innovative, equitable, accessible, and diverse guide toward civic empowerment for all. The Scorecard is easy to modify and replicate in a range of curricular and co-curricular settings. The Scorecard leverages technology that makes it easy for students to complete civic actions, upload documentation, and complete guided reflection prompts to score points and earn awards. The Scorecard helps students explore their civic identity, increase their civic participation, build life-long habits of active citizenship, and provides institutions a way to incentivize, track, and quantify civic engagement and democratic engagement beyond volunteerism and service-learning. Participants will receive a copy of the Scorecard and explore how they can adapt it for their institution.
