This session will engage participants in discussions about ways to expose students to learning about communities, cultures, and environments different from their personal culture of origin. The exemplar for this discussion will be undergraduate nursing students who have been placed in non-traditional healthcare settings for three consecutive semesters to learn about working with local communities delivering healthcare services. Participants who attend this session will walk away with ideas to apply this promising practice example to their own classrooms and programs.
