This session will outline a Faculty Learning Community (FLC) model based on a conceptual framework of six attributes to promote structure and inquiry. Through intentional revisions, the FLC has evolved to more effectively provide faculty with a space to integrate service-learning in their courses and allows scholars to gain theoretical and hands-on experience in service-learning pedagogy. Presenters will also discuss the impact of the model for institutional change, most notably in areas of improved quality of the practice, continuity and evolution over time, and how the model strengthened and reinforced alignment between community engagement and of institutional mission, identity, commitments, and practices. A toolkit of resources will be shared to allow for discussion and reflection on possible next steps.
