Recent trends have shown a big disconnect between young alumni and their alma maters. In this highly divided climate, demonstrating a commitment to social justice and change, public good, and EDI goes a long way towards establishing trust and a renewed desire to be engaged. This presentation will focus on a two-tiered approach to board membership—how to differentiate your board from others at your institution and how to recruit and engage young alumni in a way that is meaningful to them and beneficial to the institution, particularly units working in community engagement.
