Description
In order to break down affective polarization and contribute to a thriving, diverse democracy, college students must learn the skills necessary to bridge deep divides without compromising their own values. This session presents an overview of Interfaith America's Bridging the Gap program, which equips students, faculty, and administrators with the skills they need to find common ground across deep divides while solving problems in their campuses and communities. The session will focus on equipping participants with critical listening skills for use in their classrooms, campuses, and communities. Participants will learn five key building blocks of listening and, crucially, spend time practicing and refining these skills.
