Description

Now more than ever, institutions must demonstrate how they are fulfilling their missions and strategically aligning their efforts to address key institutional and community priorities. But, many institutions still struggle with comprehensively understanding and articulating their engagement and positioning themselves as an engaged institution. Even if effective data collection strategies are identified, generating buy-in for such efforts across campus is tough. This presentation will share challenges and successes from Arizona State University’s community engagement data collection efforts through the lens of “tempered radicalism.” We will share common attributes of tempered radicals and concrete examples that everyday leaders can use to influence agendas and attitudes.
