Description

How can students respond to community challenges of the moment when they are bound to often slow-responding, bureaucratic institutions of higher education? Explore how one program equips students with the tools needed to create community-based projects that address issues of equity and justice. This session will provide a powerful case study to show how capstone projects as a part of academic programs can advance not only student goals but also university responsiveness, demonstrating that project-based community engagement is truly the way forward. Participants will learn strategies and be provided templates for creating similar programs.
