Description

This roundtable will explore opportunities for greater collaboration between libraries and community engagement professionals to advance our shared objectives to increase the reach and impact of scholarship and to democratize knowledge production outside the academy. The Colorado State University Libraries, a leader in open access, collaborates with the Office of the Provost and the Office of Engagement and Extension on institutional support for and retention of community-engaged scholarship. The Association of Research Libraries recently led a pilot cohort project (“Accelerating the Social Impact of Research”) and published a report on research library activities at the intersection of open scholarship and community-engaged scholarship, providing examples and strategies for strengthening services at this critical convergence.
