Community-engaged learning must be supported at the institutional level in a manner that adheres to various national regulations and local policies. Because of their institutional roles and expertise in regulatory and policy compliance, registrars are in a unique position to provide support for community-engaged education, be thought partners in systems-level design, and move initiatives through the educational governance structures. Over the past year, registrars and civic educators from across the Associated Colleges of the Midwest have met to explore how they may leverage their collective expertise. In this session, leaders will share some of the groups’ findings and how they may serve as a catalyst for national-level support for community-engaged learning initiatives.
