David C. Paris is Senior Advisor to the Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement Coalition (CLDE) and Professor Emeritus of Government at Hamilton College. In his role with the CLDE, he is involved in developing programs with respect to accreditation, curriculum and programs, and policy. Before joining CLDE, he was the Executive Editor of Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning; a Vice President at the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U); Executive Director of the New Leadership Alliance for Student Learning and Accountability; and Dean of the Faculty at Hamilton College. His teaching and scholarship focused on political theory and public policy. He co-chairs the CLDE Coalition Working Group on Research and Public Policy and leads the Coalition’s partnership with the (formerly regional) institutional accreditation agencies.
