Thomas (Tom) Schnaubelt has served as the Executive Director of the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University since April 2009. He also serves as an Associate Vice Provost for Education and is a Resident Fellow in Branner Hall, Stanford's public service and civic engagement themed dorm. Prior to Stanford University, Tom served as Dean for Community Engagement and Civic Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and was the founding Executive Director of Wisconsin Campus Compact. His career began with a variety of innovative roles in Mississippi – each focused on forging university-community partnerships that strengthen communities. Tom earned his doctorate in education from the University of Mississippi, a master’s degree in education from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
