Mary Ellen is an adjunct faculty member at Roger Williams University where she teaches courses in community development, global migration, nonprofit management and sustainable economic and community development. Outside of the classroom, Mary Ellen is an education consultant and founded Mary Ellen Lynch Consulting to bring her passion for global education to the community.

Mary Ellen has led sessions at the 2019 Community Development Education Symposium and the 2019 Global Education Conference to present on how she integrates global citizenship education into community development curriculum. She was one of five educators across the country to be awarded a course scholarship through a USDA/NIFA Higher Education Challenge Grant to enhance community development education. Roger Williams University selected Mary Ellen as a 2018 and 2020 Hassenfeld Faculty Fellow in Community Engagement to expand her knowledge of community-engaged teaching.

Mary Ellen graduated from Boston University with a Master’s Degree in International Educational Development and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island.
