Speaker Bio
Lauren serves as the Executive Office Coordinator at the Haas Center for Public Service. Service learning was a key component of her Jesuit high school and college education, and Lauren supports a wide range of Haas Center efforts to connect students to meaningful nonprofit and community partnerships. She previously worked in Stanford’s Office of Development on the Class Giving team and after a brief hiatus, her deep appreciation for education and mission-based work led her back to Stanford to pursue a career in higher education administration. Lauren has a passion for the arts and education in both formal and informal learning environments. She earned a BA in Art History/Arts Management from the University of San Francisco, and an MA in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University. She wrote her master’s thesis on interpretation in modern and contemporary art museums, with a focus on how museum curators can design exhibitions to be accessible and engaging for a more diverse audience. Lauren was an exhibitions fellow with Root Division in San Francisco and taught an art exhibitions practicum course for three years at the University of San Francisco and is an active volunteer with the San Jose chapter of SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice).
