“The road to greater justice and equity runs through community colleges.” The session will introduce Community Colleges for Democracy (CC4D) as a network within the Campus Compact network dedicated to preparing community college students to be informed, active, and mobilized leaders in our democracy. Believing that community colleges are central to Campus Compact’s mission of ensuring that higher education is contributing to the health and strength of our democracy, this session will show how the network engages community colleges in the effort to achieve full participation in our communities, our democracy, and our economy. This session will also debut our upcoming publication on institutionalizing civic and community engagement while advancing community college priorities, and it will feature authors who are engaging their campuses on the ground.
